Each day of IslamExpo will feature a unique presentation of the recited
Qur’an, with a format developed by Quranica, an arts
organisation dedicated to promoting Qur’anic recitation (see Quranica.com).
World-class reciters will
perform selected passages live, demonstrating the beauty and creativity of this
unique traditional art-form. They will be accompanied by real-time projected
translation, as well as brief commentary by Sohaib Saeed of Quranica.

Muhammad Jebril (Egypt)

Renowned for his emotional style
of recitation, he is a well-loved scholar and television personality as well as
imam at the oldest mosque in Africa, Amr
ibn al-‘As (Cairo).
His visits to the UK
always generate great interest, and he will be at IslamExpo
for its duration, including the Opening Ceremony.

Sheikh Ramadan Hajjaj

His supple voice and melodic skill
combine the styles of numerous renowned reciters of the preceding generations
in Egypt,
capturing the attention of lovers of recitation the world over. In his first
visit to the UK,
he will be reciting in the Sunday event at IslamExpo.

Sheikh Mohamed Nabil
Abdul-Hady (Egypt)
While serving as Imam at a mosque
in Giza,
he is currently pursuing his MA at Al-Azhar
University.
His powerful recitations were heard by audiences at the FOSIS/IIDR “Remembering
the Beloved” events in March 2006.

Sheikh Syed
Hasan Bokhari (Pakistan)

Having studied the Qur’an in his
native Pakistan
as well as in Egypt
under renowned reciters, he is now based in London,
where he teaches the art of recitation. He has previously recited at The
Glorious Recital events in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
