Raihan and Shaam to perform in Concerts at IslamExpo
IslamExpo presents the Islamic Cultural
Shows, with well established and multi award-winning artists whose appeal
is widespread around the Islamic world. Drawing on a rich tradition of musical
experiences, these shows will present captivating family performances
and pleasurable evenings of Islamic entertainment.

Raihan (Malaysia) –
RAIHAN -
Raihan means 'Fragrance of Heaven'. Formally formed in October 1996 by five
members with Nazrey Johani, the late Azhari Ahmad as leader, Che Amran Idris,
Abu Bakar Md Yatim and Amran Ibrahim. Raihan pioneered contemporary Nasheed to
win many awards and recognition. They have toured the world spreading
inspirational words of peace to all people, Muslims or otherwise.

SHAAM (UK) -
SHAAM are
one of the leading exponents of Nasheed - Islamic songs in praise of Allah SWT
and His Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) - singing
in English, Arabic and Urdu. Based in Birmingham,
they are the UK's
leading Nasheed group. Hundreds of live performances and thousands of album
sales later, the group's passion for their sacred art, by the grace of God,
remain undimmed.

Omar Sammour (Palestine)
An up and coming
urban solo artist whose influential lyrics and jaw-dropping beats have
propelled him into high demand. Omar Sammour is of Palestinian and Greek
descent.His influences have been the injustices in the world and the situation
in his home country of Palestine. He uses his audacious
talent as the medium of getting his message across to people and also of
creating a greater sense of awareness of the issues that have been so relevant
to youth across the world.

Whirling Dervishes ( Netherlands)
The
Whirling Dervishes trace their origin to the 13th century Ottoman
Empire. The Dervishes, also known as the Mevlevi Order, are Sufis,
a spiritual offshoot of Islam. On December 17, Whirling Dervishes across
the world celebrate the birth of Jelaluddin Mevlana Rumi, a mystic poet, who
founded the Mevlevi Order.

Abdelkader Saadoun (Algeria)
Abdelkader
Saadoun comes from Khemis Miliana in Algeria, a few miles away from
Wahran, the birth place of RAI. Abdelkader has performed at major
festivals within the UK,
including the Womad main stage, Trafalgar
Square, The National Theatre free stage the
Barbican's Mediterranean music festival & many outdoor events, theatres,
Museums & arts centres, World Peace Music Awards in Bali & Thassos-
Greece.
